The solo Irish jig.

The solo Irish jig.

£10.00

Format: Hardback

The correct execution of Irish dances, with the traditional steps done in the traditional manner, is little understood outside Ireland, for the simple reason that qualified teachers have seldom been available. This book was first published in 1932, and thus preserves a valuable record of a bygone age. The author acquired her knowledge of the subject during a three-year residence in the counties of Cork and Kerry, and the dance which forms the subject of this book is described exactly as taught to her by native Irish teachers. Every single step has the tradition of generations of dancers behind it.
