Author: Riisager, Knudage Published: 2008 Riisager's 1930 ballet, with choreography by Elna Jørgen-Jensen to a libretto by the Danish humorist Robert Storm Petersen, was a famous fiasco in its day, lasting a mere three performances, but the music is very well worth hearing. The 40-minute score's companions on this CD are two short orchestral works, one on the oldest known bird, the other a tribute to the god of light. This is an Super Audio CD: it will play on all normal CD players, and will give enhanced effects when played on SACD equipment. |
