Author: Ravel, Maurice Published: 2006 Daphnis et Chloé, generally regarded as Ravel's masterpiece, was originally commissioned by Serge Diaghilev for Michel Fokine to choreograph, in a version now lost. The score has attracted many other choreographers, most notably Sir Frederick Ashton in a 1951 version for Margot Fonteyn and Michael Somes. This recording is of the complete ballet, including the important choral parts. |
