Author: Griffiths, Victoria & Jean Jarrell Published: 2006 This second part of a two-pack set gives teachers a series of carefully structured and progressive Labanotation tasks and readings that can be used to illustrate and develop students' understanding and skills in both the reading and writing of Labanotation. Although primarily aimed at AS/AL Dance teachers, the pack will be useful for anyone teaching post-16 students and adult learners. Part 2 continues on from Part 1, with tasks related primarily to the reading of more refined detail, including size of step, parts of feet and limbs. as well as movement for the head and torso. Also included are preparatory exercises for learning to cope with reading assignments, a series of 'mock' readings, sequences in selected contemporary styles, and phrases from well known current repertory works. The pack consists of three parts: the first is a set of photocopiable loose-leaf student worksheets and readings; the second a teacher's guide. The third part is a CD which includes all the worksheets, including the diagrammatic or notated answers, in the form of a PowerPoint presentation. |
