Published: The original version of Pulcinella was choreographed by Massine with designs by Picasso. Like the original, Richard Alston's version has a Neapolitan setting and is based on traditional Commedia dell'Arte characters. Ashley Page's Soldat uses the suite from Stravinsky's The Soldier's Tale and a similar plot: the traditional folk tale of the soldier and the devil in the battle for the soldier's soul.
