Anarchic dance.
Author: Aggiss, Liz & Billy Cowie, Ian Bramley Published: 2006 Liz Aggiss and Billy Cowie, known collectively as Divas Dance Theatre, are renowned for their highly visual, interdisciplinary brand of dance performance that incorporates elements of theatre, opera, film, poetry, and vaudevillian humour. They have created dance theatre, cabaret, live art, single and multiple dance screen installations, and live performance installations. Anarchic dance, consisting of a book and DVD-ROM, is a visual and textual record of the work of Divas Dance Theatre. The DVD-ROM features extracts from Aggiss' and Cowie's work, including the acclaimed dance film Motion Control, while in the book a wide range of writers examine Divas' performance and screen practice through analysis, theory, discussion, and personal response. [The DVD-ROM is designed to play on all computers with DVD players and appropriate DVD playing software. It will also play on most PAL (i.e. European) DVD players, but not on American NTSC players unless they are NTSC/PAL compatible.] |
