Domenico of Piacenza.
Author: Wilson, D R Published: 2006 A transcription of the manuscript in the Bibliotheque Nationale, Paris, edited, annotated, and with an introduction by D. R. Wilson. Domenico of Piacenza was acknowledged by his contemporaries and followers as founder of a new style of dancing that flourished in the north and central Italian courts in the late fifteenth century. His teaching was codified in a treatise, of which this manuscript transcribed here is the only surviving copy. Although the introduction and annotations are in English, the text itself is not here translated, being entirely in the original Italian. |
