Two first recordings: Les malheurs de Sophie is a light hearted ballet, composed in 1935 and based on a celebrated French children's book, dealing with the misadventures of a very young girl and her older brother. Les bosquets de Cythère is a suite of waltzes which attempts to capture the gaiety of Paris between the two World Wars. The disc also includes Francaix's charming Concertino for piano and orchestra.
