'Intimate Pages' seeks to portray the joy and anguish of the unrequited passion for a younger woman of the accompanying music's composer (Leos Janacek), and 'Sergeant Early's Dream' (to British, Irish, and American folk songs) tells a story of migration from the old world to the new.
