The continental method of scene painting.
Author: Polunin, Vladimir Published: 1980 Polunin was for many years chief London scene painter for Diaghilev's Ballets Russes. The first part of his book, originally published in 1927, describes the techniques involved in the method, the second part discusses his work for Diaghilev, including The Good-Humoured Ladies, Carnaval, and The Three-Cornered Hat. A fascinating book, which deserves to be better known. |
