Dance Music from Old Vienna. Tanzquartett Wien.
Published: 2002 19th century social dance music by Joseph Lanner, Johann Strauss I and Johann Strauss II, arranged for the instrumentation in which they would have been heard in coffee houses, restaurants, and wine and beer halls (2 violins, viola, and double bass). As well as the expected waltzes, there are vigorous polkas and galops, the more stately polonaise and polka mazurka, and arrangements of local folk dances. |
