Published: 2002 Recorded in 1950, a year before his untimely death, these are Walter Legge produced performances, and show Lambert the conductor at his very best. Included are the suite from Walton's Facade, four waltzes by Waldteufel, a brief excerpt from Petit's Ballabile (Chabrier, arranged Lambert), and two overtures by Suppé. The recording is of course in mono, but sounds very good for its age. |
