Bamboo Dream. Cloud Gate Dance Theatre of Taiwan.
Published: 2003 In Bamboo DreamsThe choreographer, Lin Hwai-min, produces an extraordinary blend of traditional Asian dance forms and modern dance, characterised by vigorous movement sequences, some of which are positively western/European in terms of dynamics, gesture, and expression. Mainly set to compositions by Arvo Pärt and framed by Chinese flute music, his inspiration comes from the evergreen bamboo, subject of many stories and legends. Bamboo groves are the home of nymphs and gods and serve as a refuge for wise men in times of danger. [Coded for use on PAL compatible players world wide, except China.] |
