Structures and Metaphors in Baroque Dance

In conjunction with the Society for Dance Research, the Centre for Dance Research, University of Surrey Roehampton presented an international conference exploring structure and its meaning potential in dances of the eighteenth century.

Speakers addressed reading and interpretation, what the building blocks of dances express in terms of narrative, aesthetics, politics and enactments of social order.

Proceedings have been published by the Dance Department, School of Arts, University of Surrey Roehampton.
