Choreographic Outcomes

IMPORTANT: please note that this CD-ROM is intended for use on Macintosh computers only: it will not play on Windows PCs.

Choreographic Outcomes [Macintosh version], produced by Bedford Interactive Productions, is a groundbreaking advanced technology resource pack aimed at comprehensively improving students' choreography. The resource contains an interactive CD ROM disc featuring a solo and seven outcomes derived from the solo all of which are deconstructed so that students learn about aspects of form - motif, repetition, development, variation, contrast etc. and orchestration of dancers in time and space. Form is the most difficult aspect to teach but with access to visual analysis of all the basic aspects on this CD ROM disc, students are able to quickly understand and apply the knowledge gained to their own compositions.

The resource also includes an accompanying Creative Practice Guidebook that contains 130 pages of advice to teachers, and progressive worksheets full of analysis and practical composition tasks for students, derived from use of the CD ROM as an information bank. In addition, the seminal book Dance Composition by Jacqueline Smith-Autard is included in the pack. This provides the essential theoretical basis to underpin students' practical engagement in creating dance form.

The CD ROM disc is designed for use in the practical studio context where it can be presented on an interactive whiteboard, a large LCD TV or digital projector and screen. Intermittent use of the disc in whole class or small group learning situations greatly enhances students' responses to creative composition tasks.
